Sissi and Yifei - Wedding @ Ballard Lock's and Ray's Boathouse
This past May, I had the honor to work with Sissi and Yifei on their wedding celebration. Having already taken pictures of them back in spring for their engagement session, I knew we were all going to have a great time. After getting ready at their place in Ballard, we headed over to the Ballard Locks for their First Look. My 2nd photographer Leslie tried to calm the groom's nerves down as he awaited his bride. His expressions during the First Look tell the whole story. In fact, both Sissi and Yifei were overwhelmed with emotions at that special moment. The Ballard Locks is a wonderful place for pictures. You get a little bit of everything. Boats roam through the locks, people check out the small gardens, and the trees and flowers present a unique backdrop for portraits. We eventually arrived at our venue location: Ray's Boathouse. Also located in Ballard, there is an impression view for the ceremony and reception. You get a front row seat to Shilshole Bay and the amazing sunset that eventually bursted forth. The highlight of my day is seeing the emotions during the toasts. Their bridesmaids, groomsmen, and parents delivered authentic and meaningful words that really moved everyone in the room. Those are some of my favorite shots below. It was awesome to see some of their relatives travel all the way from China to witness their marriage celebration. Oh yeah, they are also cat lovers, so peep some of those details and designs! We ended the evening with some sunset shots during an amazing golden hour, Yifei singing a song dedicated to Sissi, and sending everyone off with an exit filled with bubbles.
