Samantha and Frank's Engagement Session @ Downtown Seattle/Juanita Bay
It's been an honor to take pictures of many great couples over the years. I recently had the opportunity to take part in something new: photographing my very own brother and his fiancé. This made this specific engagement session significantly special in a new way. The day started off cloudy and foggy as we made our way towards Downtown Seattle. Frank wanted the first shoot location to feature a look that is more edgy and moody. Because of this, we ended up in a parking lot/garage of all places. That's right, a parking garage. But don't be deceived, as this spot was actually really amazing and fit the vibes perfectly. Not only did the parking lot provide rooftop access, the grimy and rusted accents matched Samantha and Frank's attire very well. I loved it. From a creative standpoint, it stretched me and I appreciated that.Later on in the evening, we completely switched it up and went with a different look. We transitioned from dark and moody all the way warm and golden. The second location was Juanita Bay Park in Kirkland, WA. The contrast was stunning, as this park had vibes of a desert more than a usual park with trees. We shot around golden hour, so the light was just right, giving a classic warm look near dusk.More importantly, it was truly a blessing and honor to capture these moments with my future sister-in-law and my brother. They laughed. They smiled. They froze a little bit in the cold temperature. These two individuals are some of the best people you'll ever meet, and I can't wait to witness their marriage later on this year!
